Engr. Pantaleon L. Tabanao was given a Professional Degree Award in Agricultural Engineering during the 77th UP Alumni Engineers Alumni Homecoming and Founding Celebration Anniversary on 9 Nov. at UP Bahay ng Alumni, Diliman, Quezon City.
Engr. Pantaleon Ll. Tabanao is a graduate of BS Agricultural Engineering Class of 1967 in UP Diliman and MS Agricultural Engineering Class ’75 in UP Los Baños.
He served as instructor and as Assistant Professor at the Land and Water Engineering Division, CEAT, UPLB from 1967 to 1980 where he taught courses in Irrigation Engineering, Drainage Engineering, and Water Resources Management Engineering.
He also led the review and assessment of Agricultural Engineering program offering of state universities and has influenced faculty members to pursue their MS study in UPLB to further improve their capabilities. He has also worked in research projects related to Water Management for rice, corn, mongo, and soybean.
In 1980, he transferred from the academe to the industry where he was appointed as Manager of the Engineering and Equipment Division at CDCP Farms Corp. until 1987.In 1987, he became the General Manager of Laguna Water District where he served for 31 years until his retirement in 2018.
At present, Engr. Tabanao is serving as the President of the College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology Alumni Association, Inc. since his election in 2018. He is spearheading the significant increase in financial grants for the benefit of the college’s undergraduate students. He is currently involved in broadening linkages of the college and university and is active in
