The College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology welcomed its new batch of engineering students through a face-to-face Convocation Program held on 29 Aug. at Charles Fuller Baker Hall.
Dr. Marion Lux Y. Castro, Officer-in-Charge, warmly welcomes the first years and shared a message of inspiration to prepare them in their college journey. Meanwhile, Mr. Gonzalo Amante of the OVCSA- Office of Counseling and Guidance, reminded how communication is very important to students in facing challenges and hardships while going through their undergraduate program.
Dr. Butch G. Bataller, CEAT College Secretary, briefed the students regarding the academic policies and common academic procedures in the college while Dr. Ramon Christian P. Eusebio, OCS Project Development Associate, introduced the different student financial assistance programs offered by CEAT.
College student organizations were also introduced in the program. Ms. BG Yvonne C. Sabellano, CEAT Student Council Vice President, imparted the programs and events of the council in empowering the student sector and Ms. Camille M. Cabusas, Chair of the University Freshman Council, shared how Freshies can participate in various activities in the university and college.
Top 10 UPCA qualifiers were also recognized during the program. Mr. Victor Dimaranan, a BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student, delivered the response as the Freshie representative.
Asst. Prof. Christian Laurence E. Aquino of the Dept. of Engineering Science served as the emcee of the event.
The annual convocation was organized by the CEAT Office of the College Secretary with the assistance of the Office of the Dean, Student Council, and student organizations. (Mary Jane F. Gallardo)
