Dr. Jean O. Loyola, UPLB Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, met with CEAT Execom and faculty members, led by Dean Rossana Marie C. Amongo. She discussed pertinent matters regarding faculty merit promotions during the online meeting held on Aug. 26, from 1 to 3 PM via Zoom.
During her presentation entitled “Career Advancement in UPLB: Insights from the Latest Faculty Merit Promotions”, VC Loyola emphasized that as “UP is the national university; therefore, UP should also have the best faculty profile.”
She also tackled the minimum expectations for faculty ranks, Limited Practice of Profession (LPP), expected teaching performance of the faculty in this remote teaching and learning setup, and the importance of having a PhD degree to advance one’s professional career.
CEAT faculty members raised their questions, clarifications and concerns related to the recent merit promotions in which VC Loyola entertained.
A few reminders were also given to the college in preparation to future call for promotions. (Mary Jane F. Gallardo)
