Dr. Rossana Marie C. Amongo was appointed as the new Dean of the UPLB College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology during the 1361st UP Board of Regents meeting on Jun. 2, 2021. She is also the first female Dean in the history of CEAT.

Dr. Amongo is a Professor 6 at the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Power Engineering Division of the Institute of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (IABE-AMPED).

As a licensed Agricultural Engineer, her research interests are in the fields of Agricultural Mechanization & Environmental Systems Management, Agricultural Machinery Design, Testing &, Evaluation, Management of Bio-production Systems Anthropometry for Machinery Design, Renewable Energy for Farm Power and Land and Water Resources Engineering.

Before being appointed as Dean, Dr. Amongo also served as director, chair and member of different units in the college and the university.

At the college level, she has served as Chair of AMD (now AMPED) (2007-2008), Associate Dean of CEAT (2008-2011), Officer-in-Charge (2011) and Director (2012-2016) of the Institute of Agricultural Engineering, and Program Coordinator (2012-2016) and Director (2016-2018) of AMDP (now BIOMECH).

Dr. Amongo also served as chair (2014-2018) and co-chair (2018-2020) of BAC Infrastructure in UPLB. She was also appointed by the UP President to be a Special BAC Chair of the UP System (2017-2018).

Doc Rose or Ma’am Rose is a full-blooded CEAT alumna. She obtained her education in Agricultural Engineering, from her undergraduate to doctorate degree, at UPLB-CEAT. Truly, Dr. Rossana Marie C. Amongo is a #TatakCEAT.
