The PhD by Research in Chemical Engineering program aims to cater to chemical engineers working in research institutions, the academe, and various industries who would like to harness their research skills and contribute to their institutions’ research and development activities. The curriculum centers on the conduct of research projects that would contribute to the solution of complex, real-world problems through utilization of advanced knowledge and skills in the field of Chemical Engineering.
This program would be beneficial to chemical engineers working in both academic and private/government research institutions/agencies, who have accumulated years of work experience and have demonstrated proficiency in the development of technical solutions, in their professional and/or scholarly practice of chemical engineering (or related fields). Having already acquired the skill and proficiency in chemical engineering through years of practical professional or academic experience, the program provides an alternative path for these chemical engineers to obtain an advanced degree (through rigorous training in research in their chosen fields of specialization), without the need for the completion of coursework.
