Dr. Nina M. Cadiz, UPLB Quality Assurance (QA) Officer and Director of the UPLB Academic Assessment and Development Unit (AADU) met with the CEAT Executive Committee on Aug. 19 via Zoom.

Dr. Cadiz, who is also a Professor at the Institute of Biological Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, discussed the AADU mandates, organizational structure, her roles as Director of AADU and UPLB QA Officer as well as that of the College QA Coordinators.

She explained how CEAT can help with the UPLB QA initiatives and also reiterated the need for units to conduct regular internal quality assessment (IQA) by carrying the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, writing a Self-Assessment Report (SAR), updating of website and client satisfaction surveys among others.

Moreover, Dr. Cadiz also discussed the standards of some local and international accrediting bodies.

In Oct. 26-30, 2020, the BS Chemical Engineering program of CEAT has undergone a virtual assessment and passed the ASEAN University Network Quality Assessment (AUN-QA).

In 2016, the BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering has also passed the said assessment. With this, all other degree programs in CEAT are also gearing up for their IQA.

The college is also set to attend SAR writing seminars by September in coordination with the UPLB AADU.
