It was a victorious month again for the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology (CEAT) as students from the Department of Chemical Engineering (DChE), Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE), and Department of Industrial Engineering (DIE) won several inter-collegiate contests.
Four BS in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering students majoring in Land and Water Resources of University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) namely Mr. Razaele Paul Labiste, Mr. Karlo Miguel Santos, Ms. Reina Rose Cabral, and Ms. Neriezza Olap visited Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU). They have undergone practical training in river engineering and water resource management in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for 40 days from 12th June to 20th July. TMU concludes an agreement with UPLB, and this practicum and study were carried out based on the “International Exchange Program of Tokyo Metropolitan University”.
CEAT graduates once again dominate the Graduate School (GS) 2016 Graduating Class since two of its graduates, Adeliza A. Dorado (PhD in Agricultural Engineering) and Glaiza J. Visitacion (MS Agrometeorology ) received the Academic Excellence Award for PhD and MS, respectively, during the Graduate School Hooding Ceremony held on June 24, 2016 at the UPLB Grounds. Academic Excellence Award is given to graduates with the highest GWA among the MS and PhD graduating class. This year, Graduate school produced 229 MS and 50 PhD graduates. Two other graduate students from CEAT also belong to the top 5 graduating PhD and MS students namely: Melanie B. Ocreto (PhD in Agricultural Engineering) and Guillermo P. Pantuhan (MS Agricultural Engineering). They both received the Academic Achievement Award during the ceremony.
