The Institute of Agricultural Engineering (IAE) of the College of Engineering & Agro-industrial Technology, University of the Philippines Los Baños (CEAT, UPLB) was awarded as the Top Performing School in the latest Agricultural Engineering Licensure Examination conducted last August 25-26, 2013 in Manila, Baguio City and Davao City administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Garnering a percentage passing rate of 92.50% (37/40 passers), IAE bested all other 52 Agricultural Engineering Schools offering the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering in the country. The national passing rate for this year’s AE board exam was recorded at 39.43% (237/601 passers).
UPLB, registering a 100% passing rate (25 out of 25), is one of the top performing school in the Registered Electrical Engineering Licensure Examination, along with Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (23 out of 23) and University of Batangas (16 out of 16).
With the theme “Challenges of Globalization in Engineering Education,” the Philippine Association for Technological Education, Inc. (PATE) held the 2013 National Convention and Annual General Membership Meeting on September 27-28, 2013 at the Citylight Hotel, Baguio City.
Students of the Department of Civil Engineering, UPLB Team B composed of Jose Maria Geda and Richard Dean Morales,bagged first runner-up in the recently concluded National Civil Engineering Quiz (NCEQ) held at UP Diliman on September 7, 2013. The quiz contest is annually organized by the UP Diliman Association of Civil Engineering Students (UP ACES).
