Over three hundred eleven (311) graduates stood proud as they were honored CEAT’s “future engineers” during the Testimonial Program last June 24, 2016, held at the EE Auditorium of the EE Building, CEAT, UP Los Baños. The program started with an invocation and national anthem by SELEStial CHORALE followed by a welcome address from the CEAT Dean, Dr. Arnold R. Elepaño and opening message by the UPLB Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development, Dr. Marish S. Madlangbayan. The said event was privileged to have Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, Undersecretary for Scientific and Technology Services of the Department of Science and Technology as the guest speaker.

Among the 311 graduates, 30 are cum laude and 4 are magna cum laude. Ms. Charlene C. Tapia, BSChE magna cum laude, was awarded as the valedictorian for the 2016 CEAT graduating class, with a general weighted average (GWA) of 1.3828. She was also given the 2016 Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence and DOST Award for Academic Excellence. The following students were also recognized by the college: Mr. Gabriel John L. De Leon, BSIE, recipient of the UPLB Outstanding Student Leadership Award and UPLB Alumni Association Leadership Award, Ms. Lara Mae R. Lumbres, BSChE major in Pulp and Paper magna cum laude, recipient of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources Faculty Award for Academic Excellence in Pulp and Paper Technology, the Bank of Philippine Island-Department of Science and Technology (BPI-DOST) award and the DOST Award for Academic Excellence in Science, Ms. Saberina I. Saberon, BSChe major in Pulp and Paper cum laude, recipient of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources Faculty Award for Academic Excellence in Pulp and Paper Technology and the DOST Award for Academic Excellence in Science, Mr. John Paul Penuliar, BSChE cum laude, recipient of the Bank of Philippine Island-Department of Science and Technology (BPI-DOST) award, and Ms. Princess J. Requiso - BSChE cum laude, and Ms. Jorezza D. Duque – BSCE cum laude, recipients of the DOST Award for Academic Excellence in Science. Meanwhile, Ms. Diane Clare M. Tiongco, BSChE cum laude, emerged as the 2016 CEAT Best Thesis awardee. In addition, 11 graduates were given the Duty Award and 3 graduates became the recipients for the Red Cross Youth Voluntary and Humanitarian Service Award.
