DOST- ERDT Scholarship Program recipients, Engr. Romel A. Arrobang (MSAE; right picture) and Dr. Reynold M. Caoili (PhDAE; left picture) top this year’s UPLB masteral and doctorate level graduates.

Together with another scholar, Engr. Job Jonas C. Ruzgal, they received the Academic Excellence Award, which is given to graduates with the highest GWA among MS and PhD graduating class.

Arrobang, Caoili and Ruzgal, with eleven more DOST-ERDT Scholars and three engineering non-scholars (total of 17 students; 15 MS and 2 PhD), graduated during the 2019 UPLB Commencement Exercise on 22 June 2019 at the UPLB Freedom Park.

Other ERDT-UPLB Scholar graduates are Engr. Renmar James P. Dacones (MSAE), Engr. Jennyfer D. Rabanera (MSAE), Engr. Bryan M. Baltazar (MSAgromet), Engr. Julious B. Cerna (MSAE), Engr. Shiela C. Cuela (MSAgromet), Engr. Rizza Lorena P. Espenido (MSAgromet), Engr. Ruel R. Guardarama (MSAE), Engr. Michael A. Lucernas (MSAE), Engr. Jefferson J. Rapisura (MSAgromet), Engr. Neil Ceasar M. Tado (MSAE) and Dr. Alfredo F. Fortu Jr. (PhD).

DOST-ERDT is a consortium of eight universities which aims to address the lack of highly trained researchers, scientists and engineers (RSE’s) and R&D engineering activities in the country by implementing its program components such as the Human Resource Development (HRD), Research and Development and Infrastructure development.

Under the ERDT-HRD, it provides scholarships to potential and qualified applicants who are interested to pursue engineering graduate program.

UP Los Baños is a member of DOST-ERDT consortium universities since 2008 with its Project Leader, Dean Arnold R. Elepaño, of the College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology.
